To further promote the cooperation between China and Malaysia in the fields of higher education, joint research and so on, and to strengthen the communications on vocational education between China and Malaysia and people’s friendship, the opening ceremony of Malaysian International Students New Energy Vehicle Technology Training Camp was held in Room 1809, Kaizu Building in ZJCST. Zheng Wei, Party member and Vice President of ZJCST, Chen Chuanzhou, General Manager of Yalong Intelligent Equipment Group, Ltd. Co., and other related representatives attended the meeting.

Zheng Wei stated in his welcome speech that the New Energy Vehicle Technology Training Camp is an important attempt of the cooperation between China and Malaysia in the fields of technology and education. ZJCST always regards highly of and actively promoted the international exchange and cooperation, devoted itself to cultivating high quality talents with international mindset. He hoped that through this cooperation, students can learn to tell the stories of China and Malaysia, deepen cultural integration, and promote the sharing of educational resources of the two nations and enhance the technological innovation.

Chen Chuanzhou, General Manager of Yalong Intelligent Equipment Group, Ltd. Co., extended his warmest welcome to Malaysian students who had come from afar, and his sincere gratitude to all the partnered units and staff that participated in this training project. He expected that the international students could learn the professional skills in the area of new energy vehicle, improve their abilities of teaching, training and evaluation. He hoped that this training project would become an good example of vocational education cooperation between the two countries, promote the the integration of industry and education of both Malaysia and Chinese vocational education, serve the international cooperation of industries, and contribute to the innovative development of “Belt and Road”nations and the establishment of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Teacher representative from the School of New Energy Equipment expressed his empathy towards the international students by sharing his own studying abroad experience. The International students representative Faruq extended his gratitude towards this studying abroad opportunity. He hoped to gain knowledge and experience in China and bring these back to Malaysia for better use. He also hoped to promote the educational development of the field of Malaysian new energy vehicle technology of the Department of Vocational Technology Education and Training Malaysia.

After the meeting, international students visited the “UAV+”training base, intelligent equipment training base, CMF innovative and design training base, information security production training base, safety intelligent monitoring system training base, and intelligent room training base, gaining a better understanding of the curriculum and major set-up of the college.

It is known that this new energy vehicle training project is commissioned by the Malaysian Centre for Teachers and Advanced Skills Training (CIAST) and hosted by Yalong Intelligent Equipment Group, Ltd. Co. and Zhejiang College of Security Technology. This training camp accepted a total of 18 students from national vocational colleges under the Ministry of Human Resources Malaysia (MOHR), Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE), Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), Ministry of Youth and Sports, and Ministry of Rural Development of Malaysia and will last for one month. The Malaysian government attaches great importance to the effectiveness of training, and each trainee must pass the corresponding new energy vehicle technology standard test after completing the training to be considered qualified. This training course combines theory with practical experience, focusing on the theme, and includes professional core courses such as Introduction to New Energy Electric Vehicles, Power Batteries and High Voltage Safety Management Systems, and Drive Motor Control Systems; There is also a weekly expert lecture to provide in-depth explanations of the introduction and development regulations of new energy vehicle technology. In addition, courses such as woodworking techniques, Ou Yue culture, and emergency training, as well as Wenzhou city tours, have been arranged to add fun to the compact professional training, and help students experience the charm of traditional Chinese culture, and feel the vitality of the millennium old city of Wenzhou.
